A BILL

To formally state the General Assembly's intentions 1
in its upcoming deliberations on providing a more 2
responsive and responsible government. 3

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. In conducting its deliberations on providing a 4
more responsive and responsible government, the General Assembly 5
may consider any of the following: 6

        (A) Promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in 7
government; 8

        (B) Examining potential cost-saving measures, such as 9
streamlining services and creating economies of scale; 10

        (C) Thoroughly reviewing and monitoring all contracts with 11
private providers of government services, and requiring that their 12
records be open for examination; 13

        (D) Removing bureaucratic barriers to government services; 14

        (E) Any other matter the General Assembly considers relevant 15
to advancing the vital public policy of providing a more 16
responsive and responsible government. 17
