A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

To designate Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Park in 1
the Village of Clinton, County of Summit, Ohio, as 2
the home of the Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial 3
Park for the entire State of Ohio. 4

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE SENATE CONCURRING):

       WHEREAS, Many Ohioans fought and died in the Vietnam War; and 5

       WHEREAS, The Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Park Committee, 6
a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to raising money to 7
construct and maintain an Ohio memorial in the village of 8
Clinton, Ohio, to honor all of Ohio's veterans from all wars; and 9

       WHEREAS, Land upon which the Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial 10
Park is being constructed has been dedicated within the Clinton 11
Cemetery to honor members of the United States Armed Forces from 12
Ohio who served in all wars; and 13

       WHEREAS, A black granite wall will be the main focus of the 14
Park and will list the names of the 3,095 Ohio natives that gave 15
their lives during the Vietnam War, bricks with the names of 16
service members from all wars and monuments honoring all branches 17
of service will pave the way to the center of the Park, and 18
monuments, benches, and trees of remembrance throughout the Park 19
will honor all Ohio veterans from all wars; and 20

       WHEREAS, The Park's goals are to honor the service and 21
sacrifice of all members of the Armed Forces of the United States, to serve as a source of solace and pride to the families and 23
comrades of the veterans honored there who gave a most precious 24
gift that can never be repaid, and to let those members and their 25
families and comrades know that the cost of freedom is not 26
forgotten; now therefore be it 27

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 128th General Assembly 28
of the State of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, designate the 29
Village of Clinton, County of Summit, Ohio, as the home of the 30
Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Park, a memorial to Ohio veterans 31
from all wars; and be it further 32

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 33
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to the news 34
media of Ohio and to the Village of Clinton, County of Summit, 35
Ohio. 36
