Honoring American Legion Buckeye Boys State on its Seventy-fifth Anniversary.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate American Legion Buckeye Boys State on the auspicious occasion of its Seventy-fifth Anniversary, celebrated June 11-19, 2011; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to American Legion Buckeye Boys State, for it has attained a remarkable record of service to the Ohio. Founded by the American Legion in 1936, Buckeye Boys State provides top high school juniors with the opportunity to learn about the organization, operation, and principles of city, county, and state government through a non-partisan approach, and it has become the largest Boys State program in the nation, with more than 1,200 young men attending annually. The achievements of BBS are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the initiative itself but also on the American Legion; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, American Legion Buckeye Boys State has enhanced the quality of life within the Great State of Ohio, and it has earned the respect and gratitude of many. We are certain that as this worthy organization maintains its dedication to service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has long been its hallmark; and |
| WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of programs such as American Legion Buckeye Boys State that the State of Ohio continues to prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work. It is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend American Legion Buckeye Boys State on its Seventy-fifth Anniversary and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to American Legion Buckeye Boys State. |
