A RESOLUTION
Honoring Samuel Prakel on being selected as the 2011-2012 Gatorade Ohio Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Samuel Prakel as the 2011-2012 Gatorade Ohio Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year; and |
| WHEREAS, A junior at Versailles High School, Samuel Prakel has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in cross country, and as a result, he won the 2011 Division III State Championship with a time of 15:19.34, placed fourteenth at the Nike Cross Nationals Regional Championships with a time of 15:15.2, and placed eightieth at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional Championships with a time of 16:11; and |
| WHEREAS, Samuel Prakel's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coach, Mark Pleiman, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, Taking part in organized physical activity such as high school sports plays such an important role in the total education of our young people, and we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Samuel Prakel on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in cross country will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Samuel Prakel on his recent accolade and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Samuel Prakel. |
