In memory of Dr. Frank W. Hale, Jr.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dr. Frank W. Hale, Jr., on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and

       WHEREAS,  Frank Hale's zealous love of life and his selfless concern for the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human being and as a leading citizen. A fixture in higher education for fifty-four years, he worked in numerous roles at Central State University, Oakwood College, Potomac University, Kenyon College, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and The Ohio State University, where he served as vice provost and professor emeritus and founded the Visitation Days and Minority Scholars programs and The Ohio State MU Xi Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Mu Honorary Society, and the OSU Black Cultural Center was named in his honor. He was a dedicated and devoted educator whose exemplary career serves as an inspiration for others; and

       WHEREAS,  A man of exceptional concern and insight, Frank Hale also achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the community. A member of Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church and numerous regional and national boards, he served as a consultant for local, regional, and national organizations, and he was the author and editor of various books, scholarly articles, and journal publications. To his credit, he will long be remembered for his kindness and his unwavering commitment to service; and

       WHEREAS,  Frank Hale willingly shared his energy and abilities with his friends and family, including his wife, Mignon, his three children, Frank, Ifeoma, and Sherilyn, his two stepchildren, Oliver and Michael, and his grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, and his efforts will certainly live beyond him. The vitality and commitment of this exceptional human being and excellent citizen will be remembered fondly by all those who knew and loved him; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the memory of a truly remarkable man, Dr. Frank W. Hale, Jr.; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Dr. Frank W. Hale, Jr.
