A RESOLUTION
Honoring Senator Capri S. Cafaro as the recipient of the 2011 NIAF Youth Leadership Award.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Senator Capri S. Cafaro on receiving the 2011 National Italian American Foundation Youth Leadership Award; and

       WHEREAS,  Elected to represent the 32nd Senatorial District in 2007, Capri Cafaro has held the posts of assistant minority whip and minority leader of the Ohio Senate, and her selection for this prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to her. Clearly, those who recommended her for this accolade hold her in high regard, and this accomplishment reflects her richly deserved reputation as an individual whose concern for, and commitment to, the Italian-American community is unparalleled. Through her fine work, she has set an example of responsible citizenship worthy of emulation; and

       WHEREAS,  Capri Cafaro has given back far more than she has gleaned. Her initiative, integrity, and intelligence have been valuable assets to her in all her endeavors, and she can be proud that her unflagging dedication to her heritage has inspired many who know her to devote themselves similarly; and

       WHEREAS,  Capri Cafaro has expended countless hours and seemingly inexhaustible energy in strengthening Italian pride. This national achievement is a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, on her friends, and on the State of Ohio; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Senator Capri S. Cafaro on her innumerable contributions and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Senator Capri S. Cafaro.
